What is a video introduction and does it cost anything?
A video introduction is an optional video of up to 60 seconds with sound. It is shown on your profile below your photos and above "About me". The video is free for all members.
- You can have one video at a time
- You can delete the video and record a new one
- You need at least 1 approved profile photo
- Your browser must be given access to the camera and microphone
How do I record my video introduction?
You can record the video using a computer or a mobile device.
- Go to My Profile → Manage Photos → "Video Introduction" button (or go directly to /video-intro)
- Allow access to the camera and microphone
- Click the red record button and introduce yourself, for up to 60 seconds
- Click Stop once you're finished
- Watch the video back
- Click Save
On mobile, first tap your profile photo at the top, then select Manage Photos → Video Introduction and follow the same steps.
Tip: record in daylight, look at the camera, find a quiet setting and speak clearly.
How long does it take before my video is visible, and what are the rules?
After recording, your video is automatically checked for inappropriate content. Usually the video is visible on your profile within 24 hours.
The following content is not allowed:
- Sexually suggestive content
- Other people in view
- Poor image or sound quality
- Offensive remarks
If your video is rejected, you'll receive a notification with the reason. You can then record a new video via /video-intro.
How do I delete or replace my video introduction?
Go to /video-intro and click "Delete video". You can then record a new video straight away.
