Where do I fill in my profile?

You complete your profile on two pages.

  • Edit Profile : basic information, about me, physical characteristics, what you're looking for, languages, lifestyle preferences (smoking, drinking, children) and photos.
  • My Lifestyle : the lifestyle questionnaire with 6 sections, including occupation, hobbies and interests.

On a computer, you'll find both via the navigation bar under My Profile. On mobile, tap your profile photo at the top and select My Profile or My Lifestyle.

How is my profile percentage calculated?

The percentage is made up of several components:

  • Basic information: 25%
  • About me: 20%
  • Physical characteristics: 15% (only counts if all 5 fields are filled in: height, build, hair colour, eye colour, skin tone)
  • Lifestyle questionnaire: 35%
  • Languages: 5%
  • Search preferences: 5%

This percentage determines how many messages you can send per conversation as a free member: below 70% that's 2, from 70% that's 4, and from 80% with a completed lifestyle questionnaire that's 6, including the Lifestyle Expert badge. No percentage is required for chatting itself.

What is the lifestyle questionnaire and why is it important?

The lifestyle questionnaire accounts for 35% of your profile, is needed for your weekly matches, and can increase your message limit to 6 per conversation (at 80% profile including this questionnaire).

The questionnaire consists of 6 sections:

  1. Living Situation & Lifestyle
  2. Work & Life Stage (this is also where you fill in your occupation)
  3. Family & Social
  4. Health & Activity
  5. Relationship Wishes
  6. Activities & Communication (this is where you fill in your hobbies)

Six fields are required to receive matches: living situation, living alone, employment status, relationship pace, activity level and communication preference.

You'll find the questionnaire via My Profile > My Lifestyle. Update the 6 sections and click "Save Preferences" at the bottom. This takes approximately 10 minutes.

Where do I fill in my hobbies and interests?

Hobbies and interests are not entered in Edit Profile, but in the lifestyle questionnaire.

  1. Go to My Profile > My Lifestyle
  2. Open section 6, Activities & Communication
  3. Choose from categories such as sport, creative or nature
  4. Click "Save Preferences" at the bottom

We recommend filling in 3 to 5 hobbies. This gives others more talking points to start a conversation with.

Where do I fill in my occupation?

Your occupation and work situation are filled in via My Profile > My Lifestyle > section 2, Work & Life Stage. Don't forget to click "Save Preferences" at the bottom.

How do I edit my 'about me', ideal partner and future plans?

Go to My Profile > Edit Profile and expand the "About Me" section. You'll find three text fields here: Describe yourself, Ideal partner and Future plans. Fill them in and click Save.

Your text is first reviewed after saving before it becomes visible to other members. Please note: contact details such as phone numbers, email addresses, WhatsApp or social media are never permitted in your profile text.

Where do I edit my basic information, physical characteristics, languages and search preferences?

All of these can be found on My Profile > Edit Profile. Click or tap a section to expand it, select Edit, fill in the fields and click Save.

  • Physical characteristics only count towards your profile percentage if you fill in all 5 fields.
  • Under "What are you looking for?" you also set your location and default search distance.
  • You can change your location via Edit Profile > Basic Information or What are you looking for? > Location.

How do I indicate whether I'm looking for a relationship, LAT relationship, friendship or companionship?

Go to My Profile > Edit Profile > "What are you looking for?". Here you can select one or more relationship goals: a committed relationship, a LAT relationship (together but living apart), friendship, or companionship and chatting. This appears on your own profile and you'll also see it on other members' profiles, so no one has to guess what someone is looking for.

Looking for friendship or companionship is common: a significant proportion of active members indicate this instead of a relationship. If you're mainly looking to meet new people, set friendship as your goal and search nearby, for example within 25 to 50 km.

Where do I fill in my smoking status and drinking habits?

This isn't part of the lifestyle questionnaire, but is found on Edit Profile under the Lifestyle Preferences section.

  1. Go to My Profile > Edit Profile
  2. Scroll to Lifestyle Preferences
  3. Click Edit
  4. Under Smoking, choose one of the options: Never, Occasionally or Regularly
  5. Click Save

Drinking habits can be found in the same place and work in the same way.

Which living situation do I choose as a Belgian member?

The living situation options use Dutch terminology; there are no separate Belgian terms. Choose the option that best matches your situation:

  • Own house or flat: choose Own home
  • Rented house or social housing flat: choose Rented home
  • Living with family: choose With family
  • Sheltered housing, assisted living, care home or nursing home: choose Senior housing/Sheltered accommodation

The term chosen makes no difference to matching.

How do I improve my profile to get more responses?

This order generally produces the best results:

  1. Complete the lifestyle questionnaire to at least 80%, this earns you the Lifestyle Expert badge, 6 messages per conversation and better matches
  2. Add at least 1, preferably 3 to 5 varied photos (portrait, hobby, outdoor), with your face clearly visible, ideally smiling and recent
  3. Write a personal and specific "About me" text
  4. Fill in all 5 physical characteristics fields
  5. Add 3 to 5 hobbies in the lifestyle questionnaire
  6. Don't make your search preferences too strict: a wider age range and distance mean more people can find you
  7. Log in regularly and send likes yourself, active profiles are shown more often

How do I see my profile as others see it?

On a computer, go to My Profile via the navigation bar and click View My Profile. On mobile, tap your profile photo at the top and select View my profile. You'll then see exactly what other members see of your profile.

Why has someone already viewed my profile when it's not yet complete?

Immediately after registration, your profile is already visible under "New Members". Other members can then see your name, age and location, even if you haven't filled in everything yet. This is why you may already receive visitors before your profile is complete.

Complete your profile as soon as possible, as this generally attracts more serious responses.

What do the badges on my profile mean?

There are several types of badges:

  • Milestone badges : Email Verified, First Impression (basic information completed), Photo Added, Storyteller (complete "about me" text), Lifestyle Expert (lifestyle questionnaire 80% or higher, gives the highest message limit)
  • Activity badges : Daily Visitor (active 7 days in a row), Conversation Starter (10 conversations), Local Hero (5 matches in your own region), Photogenic (5 photos), Early Bird, Quality Chatter, Anna's Student (3 coaching sessions)
  • Verification badges : Video Verified, Payment Verified, Fully Verified (both video and payment)
  • Special badges : Premium Member, Ambassador (for a review on Google or Trustpilot), Community Helper

Please note: selfie and ID badges will be discontinued as of 4 October 2026.

What does it mean when my profile has been 'approved'?

This could refer to three different things:

  • Photo approved : your photo has been reviewed and has the status approved, pending or rejected
  • Profile complete : the percentage of fields filled in, which determines your message limit
  • Verification badge : your identity has been confirmed via video or payment, this is optional

Profile texts are also always reviewed first before becoming visible to others. If you're unsure which part this refers to, please contact us via the contact form.
