1. When does this privacy statement apply?

This privacy statement applies to all personal data we process and all domains related to us, including 60dating.com and 50dating.com. It concerns personal data of anyone who has had contact with us or visited our website, such as visitors, customers, and business contacts. Personal data are all data that can be traced back to you as an individual, such as name, email address, IP address, or browsing behavior.

In addition to this privacy statement, our terms and conditions apply to the use of our service.

2. Who uses your data?

The entity responsible for the processing of personal data is Epic Internet B.V. , Euclideslaan 171, 3584 BS Utrecht, Netherlands. Registered with the Chamber of Commerce under number 64190102.

Epic Internet operates a shared dating platform offered under two brands: 50dating.com (for members aged 50 and over) and 60dating.com (for members aged 60 and over). The member database and profiles form a single system. When you register on 60dating.com, your profile is visible to other members aged 60 and over — including members who registered via 50dating.com and are searching for matches aged 60 and over. When you register on 50dating.com, your profile is visible to all members aged 50 and over on the platform.

3. Whose data do we use?

We process personal data of anyone who has had contact with us or visited our website. This includes visitors, private customers, business customers, and contacts from partners.

5. What data do we use from you?

• Name, gender, date of birth, age
• Contact details such as email address
• Profile information (photos, relationship status, preferences, interests, hobbies)
• Special category personal data you enter yourself (e.g., orientation, religion, children). These are data within the meaning of Article 9 GDPR. We process these solely on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR), which you provide when completing these profile fields. You can delete or modify this data at any time via your profile settings, thereby withdrawing your consent.

6. What do we use your data for?

For the processing of special category personal data (such as orientation or religion), the additional legal basis is your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). See section 5 for more information.

7. How long do we keep your data?

We do not retain personal data longer than necessary. Account data is deleted when you delete your account yourself or submit a deletion request to our customer service. We retain payment data for 7 years due to tax retention obligations. Messages and profile information are deleted once your account is permanently deleted. Accounts that have been inactive for more than 24 months (no login) may be deleted after a reminder email.

8. With whom do we share your data?

We only share personal data with third parties if it is necessary for our services or if we are legally obliged to do so. We never sell your data to third parties. The following parties process data as sub-processors:

Tracking cookies from Google and Meta are only placed with your consent (see section 13).

9. Where do we store your data?

We process data primarily within the European Economic Area (EEA). For transfers to countries outside the EEA, we use the following safeguards:

• Google LLC & Meta Platforms, Inc. (US) — certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023).
• Anthropic, Inc. (US) — Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs, decision 2021/914/EU) as transfer mechanism.
• SMTP2GO (New Zealand) — Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Mollie, PayPal (Europe) and UpCloud are established within the EEA and require no additional transfer safeguards.

10. How secure is your data with us?

We take technical and organizational measures to secure your data, such as encryption, access restrictions, and logging. However, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Sharing data with other users is at your own risk.

This privacy statement is governed by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Dutch legislation.

13. What cookies do we use?

• Tracking cookies (e.g., Facebook Pixel, Google Ads) — only with consent

14. What do we do with data from minors?

Our services are intended exclusively for individuals 18 years and older. During registration, we verify the provided date of birth; users under 18 are not admitted. If we determine that a user is a minor, the account is immediately deleted and the associated data is erased.

15. Automated decision-making and profiling

Under Article 22 GDPR, you have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing that produces legal effects or similarly significantly affects you.

Anna the Dating Coach (AI) — Anna is an AI assistant powered by a language model from Anthropic. Anna provides advice on your profile, photos and conversation skills. Anna does not make any decisions about your account, visibility or access to features. All responses are non-binding advice; you are free to follow them or not.

Matching algorithm — Our matching system suggests profiles based on your preferences, location and profile data. These are suggestions only; you decide who to contact. The algorithm does not restrict access to features or services.

None of these systems make decisions with legal effects or comparable significant consequences for you. If you have questions about how these systems work, please contact us via the email address in section 16.
