What will 50dating.com never ask me for?
We will never ask you to pay for another member's membership, to send money or gift vouchers to members, to share your password or to provide payment details via chat or email. If you receive such a request, it is always a scam, even if the message appears to come from 50dating.com.
- Genuine emails from us always come from an official 50dating.com email address
- If you receive such a request from a member: report the profile and block the person
How do I recognise a scammer?
Watch out for these signs with a match:
- Quickly asking for WhatsApp, a phone number or email address, often with excuses such as "I'm not on here much" or "I'm deleting my account soon"
- Refusing to video call on the platform
- An emergency story (hospital, stranded abroad, broken phone) followed by a request for money
- Sudden, intense declarations of love, despite living far apart
- Model-like photos and a strikingly perfect profile
- Pressing to continue chatting outside the platform
Chat on the platform for at least a week, have a video call first, never send money, and report the profile if you have any doubts.
Someone is asking me for money, what should I do?
Never send money to someone you have met online, whatever the story.
- Report the profile straight away
- Block the person
- If you have already transferred money: report it to the police and contact your bank
- Also get in touch via the contact form
We take requests for money very seriously and close accounts involved in this.
How does 50dating.com protect me against fake profiles?
Photos and profile texts are checked before they become visible. Suspicious profiles receive extra attention from our moderation team, and messages are automatically scanned for requests for money and contact details. Every report is reviewed by a team member, usually within a day. If a profile is identified as a scam, we close the account and warn the people they have been chatting with.
There are no chat operators or fake profiles created by 50dating.com itself. Verification badges show which members have undergone additional checks.
Why has my conversation suddenly disappeared?
A conversation can disappear for a few reasons:
- The other person has deleted their account
- You have been blocked
- The profile has been closed by our moderation team
In the latter case, you will see the message "Profile removed for your safety: we have removed [name]'s profile due to suspicious activity; you are protected and this conversation has ended." This is a protective measure, not a technical fault. The conversation cannot be retrieved and this decision is final.
If you can no longer see a conversation but have not received a notification, first check Messages → Filter → Hidden conversations.
Why has my account been closed?
An account that does not comply with our guidelines and terms and conditions will be closed by us. This may involve, for example, sexually suggestive content, signs of scamming, multiple accounts belonging to the same person, or other breaches of the guidelines. Logging in is no longer possible after this.
This decision is final and the account will not be reopened. If you have questions about this: please get in touch via the contact form.
Why can I temporarily not send messages?
This happens in two situations.
- Safety review of your account: when trying to send a message, you will see the notice "For the safety of our members, we are reviewing your account. You will not be able to send messages temporarily (usually a few hours)." Our team reviews your account, after which you can chat as normal again. This also applies to Premium members and has nothing to do with your subscription. It is also different from the mandatory video verification, which you can recognise by a separate verification page.
- Sending pause after repeated attempts to share contact details as a free member: 15 minutes after 5 attempts within 24 hours, 60 minutes after 10 attempts.
Both restrictions are temporary and will lift automatically; this is not a fault. If it lasts longer than a day, please get in touch via the contact form.
How do I meet up safely with a match?
A few basic rules for a first meeting:
- Meet in a public place
- Arrange your own transport
- Let someone know where you are
- Have a video call via the platform first before meeting up
- Do not share your address or bank details
- Never transfer money
- Trust your instincts

Who can see my email address and details?
Your email address, password and payment details are never visible to other members. Profiles can only be seen by members who are logged in. All connections on 50dating.com are encrypted (SSL) and we operate in accordance with GDPR.
