How do I adjust my email preferences or turn off emails?
You can set which emails you receive from 50dating.com and how often.
- On your computer: click your profile photo in the top right, go to Settings and choose Email Preferences .
- On mobile: tap the gear icon at the top and choose Email Preferences .
- Switch the toggles on or off for new messages, likes, matches, weekly matches, profile visitors and tips.
- Choose the frequency: instant, a daily summary or a weekly summary.
- Click Save .
Please note: if you turn off "receive emails" entirely, you'll also stop receiving weekly matches. There is also an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.
Why do I receive emails like "X people found you interesting"?
These are automatic activity emails. They summarise profile visits, likes or match suggestions from the recent period. "Interest" means someone has viewed your profile, liked you, or matches your preferences. It doesn't always mean that person wants to start a conversation straight away.
Don't want to receive these emails any more? Go to Settings > Email Preferences and switch them off.
What do the red dots with numbers in the menu mean?
The red dots are counters that show what's new:
- Messages: the number of unread messages.
- Likes: new likes from the past 3 days.
- Visitors: new profile visitors from the past 7 days.
- Activity: new activity since your last visit.
The dots disappear as soon as you view the relevant page. It can take up to 2 minutes for the counter to update.
What is the activity overview?
You'll find this overview in the navigation bar under Activity (on mobile: the bell icon, labelled "Notifications" in the menu). Here you'll see the Activity Overview, Visitors, Likes and Blocked members.
Free members only see the numbers for visitors and likes. Premium members also see who it is. The extended overview showing all activity since your last visit is available to Premium members.
Who has viewed my profile?
Go to Activity > Visitors to see who has viewed your profile.
- As a free member, you only see the number of visitors, for example "12 visitors this week".
- As a Premium Basic or Plus member, you see who has visited, with photo, name and age. You can visit these people back or like them.
What are the notifications on the site and where do I find them?
The bell icon in the top right (on computer) or the bell icon in the navigation bar (on mobile) shows notifications. This includes new likes, matches, visitors and safety notices, such as a notice that a profile has been removed for your safety.
