Is signing up to 50dating.com free?

Yes, signing up is completely free. For this you'll need: a nickname, your email address, a password, your year of birth, your gender, and who you're looking for.

As a free member, you can view profiles, search, like, start new conversations, and ask questions to our AI coach Anna without limit.

You can send 2, 4, or 6 messages per conversation, depending on how complete your profile is
You can only see the number of likes and visitors, not who they are
Advanced search filters, read receipts, and video chat are not available

How do I verify my email address?

After registering, you'll receive a welcome email with an activation link. Without a verified email address, you cannot start a new conversation yourself.

You can, however, reply to incoming messages and receive weekly matches, once your photo and profile have been approved. This usually takes about a day.

If you click a link in one of our emails, for example in a message notification, your address is automatically verified
Haven't received an email? Check your spam or promotions folder
You can request a new verification email via your dashboard
With Hotmail and Outlook, our emails sometimes arrive with a delay; waiting a little while and requesting again usually helps

What do I need in order to chat?

To be able to chat, you need at least one approved photo. A photo still under review does not count towards this.

Starting a new conversation yourself is only possible once your email address has also been verified
You can reply to a message you receive without verification, once your photo and profile have been approved (usually within a day)
Until that approval, the verification requirement also applies to replies

How complete your profile is also determines how many messages you can send per conversation as a free member (2, 4, or 6).

What can I do if I can't log in?

Forgotten your password? Click "Forgotten password?" on the login page and follow the link in the email you receive
Check that you're using the email address you registered with
A link from one of our emails will automatically log you in once confirmed

If it still doesn't work after that, your account may have been closed. In that case, please get in touch via the contact form.

How do I change my password?

On a computer: click your profile photo in the top right, go to Settings, choose Password, enter your current and new password (twice), and click Save.

On mobile: tap the gear icon (Settings) at the top, choose Password, enter the details, and save.

Forgotten your password? Go to the login page, click "Forgotten password?", enter your email address, and follow the link in the email you receive.

How do I change my email address or language?

Go to Settings and choose Email Address to enter your new email address. You confirm the change via an email sent to that address. You can change your language preference under Settings → Language.

On mobile, you'll find both options under the gear icon in the navigation bar at the top.

How do I log out?

On a computer: click your profile photo in the top right and choose Log Out.

On mobile: tap your profile photo (My Profile) at the top and scroll all the way down for the Log Out option.

If you're the only user of your device, logging out isn't necessary.

What does 'signing off' mean at 50dating.com?

"Signing off" can mean three different things:

Logging out: you only end your session, your account remains unchanged
Deleting your account: your profile and data are removed
Stopping emails: you can arrange this under Settings → Email Preferences

Please note: cancelling Premium is different. This only stops the payment; your profile remains visible as normal.

How do I change my username (nickname)?

Your nickname is the name other members see. A few rules apply:

Between 2 and 50 characters
Letters and numbers only, no spaces, punctuation, or accents such as é or ü
Must not reveal your full first and last name
Must not be obscene

Names don't need to be unique. You can change your nickname for free via My Profile → Edit Profile → the "First Name" field at the top → Save.

If you get a message when saving that your nickname may only contain letters and numbers, even though you haven't changed anything about your name, it means your current name (for example, with a space or accent) no longer meets the rules. Choose a tidy nickname without spaces or accents, for example "Christiane54", and save again.

Am I allowed to have multiple accounts?

No, only one account per person is allowed. If you'd like a new account, first delete your old account via Settings → Danger Zone → Delete Account, then register with a different email address.

Accidentally logged into an old account? Simply log out and log back in with the email address of the account you want to keep.

Please note: the email address of a recently deleted account remains reserved for 3 months and cannot be used again during that period.

Can I temporarily pause or hide my account?

There is no option to pause your account or temporarily hide your profile, and there's no privacy setting for visibility. However, you do have other options:

Simply don't log in during the period you don't want to be active
Buy an Incognito pass: browse unseen and appear offline for 24 hours, for €4.95
Hide individual conversations
Cancel your Premium, so nothing more is charged
Delete your account: your profile will then be immediately invisible and can be reactivated within 3 months by logging in again

Is there a 50dating.com app?

50dating.com is a website, not an app you download from the App Store or Play Store. You can, however, add the site as a shortcut to your phone's home screen: open Safari or Chrome, go to the share or menu icon, and choose "Add to Home Screen".

Not working properly, for example showing error messages or outdated pages? Remove the shortcut and add it again, or simply open the site directly in your browser.

Can I log in with the same account on multiple devices?

Yes, you can log in with the same account on your computer, tablet, and phone, even at the same time. Your messages, matches, photos, and profile changes are instantly the same everywhere.
